As an already retired past employee, I am writing this one day past the deadline from a cruise ship in the Caribbean. This is what retired people do best. Focus on family, fun and forgetting about deadlines.
What’s a deadline for you now? Catching that plane on time. Making it to a family dinner early enough to help out or picking up the tab at the restaurant. Cherishing children and grandchildren wherever they may be across the country or around the corner.
I will never forget the example of inclusiveness you demonstrated everyday. Your interaction with every level of staff was noticeable and appreciated. I will always cherish the fun times and the hard times you led us all through.
Personally my favourite memory is no surprise to anyone who was around in the fall of 2017. You graciously donated your office and “role” as CEO to the highest bidder for a day. All funds went to support our amazing Foundation team and their goals. You allowed me (and our ODL team) to push the limits on this and it resulted to an unforgettable day for all to enjoy.
